By the tender mercy of our God,

the dawn from on high will break upon us…

               Luke 1:78

Like an egg of light cracked open

in the sky, spilling rays

over those in shadow

and illuminating those

in darkness—Jesus is born,

and through him,

the hungry world is fed.

Stephanie Nygaard lives in Illinois with her husband and three daughters. She spends her days homeschooling, reading, writing, and noticing the beauty around her. Stephanie’s first collection of poetry, Beautiful Glimpse, was published through Amazon in November 2023.
