The Humble See God and Are Glad

A Poem by Kaira Low

It’s easy to not think about what seems to come naturally.

But nothing comes naturally.

Is there anything that is out of my own strength?

The humble see God and are glad.

They think about such things that seem little and insignificant

and know that yes, God is in those things, too.

They are fully dependent on Him in every way,

like a branch to a vine.

Failure pries open the dark eyes of the proud,

and makes them see the Light of the World,

full of tender-hearted mercy.

Praise God for the light of His countenance.

The humble see God and are glad;

He is the only way to look.
