Dew Jewels
A Poem by Alexis Ragan
Jewels of dew on morning plants are fashioned carefully,
like that of an artist using tongs, bedazzling each sparkle on,
one by one, the surface of the leaf is now shimmering —
barren branches decorated with raindrop ornaments are
hanging gracefully off the limbs of leaves, glistening gold
and silver water drip dripping from each branch, old,
engaging in mindfulness takes more energy than you know,
when you grasp the chance to witness this, don’t let it go.
