Light Everlasting

A Poem by Gail Davidson

A tingling fragrance

sweeps the skies

cedar-sweet,

these incense tides

In haste, in mirth, in race to earth,

angels outpace

the night wind,

shooting stars,

and their own

joyous

G l o r i a

They cannot resist

a celestial kiss,

a glimpse,

a peek,

a witness to

the long-awaited nativity -

Gesu bambino,

most rare and precious gift

A covenantal promise

of Immanuel strength,

magnificent,

without decay

He sleeps hushed in harmony before the dawn;

His glory be

that starlight symphony,

that tender mew of

newborn yawn

Eternity,

unwrap this exalted sight,

lay all hopes in the lustrous host of might

and uplift our weary souls

tonight,

for darkness is hoodwinked,

the die has been cast

Hail the Incarnate Word

future, present, and past,

as we awaken

now,

for night

will not last

poetry collection for 2025. She hopes to craft with her hands, a book, and through her words, hope

and light.
