Twilight

A Poem by Joel Adcock

If you are Light — I am twilight

Radiating into my darkness

Not overcome by night

Burning eternally

My singularity

Your flame fills our contexts

Foolishly we look upon our world

Not noticing the light filling it

I long to bear witness to you

I see you

Your shine has shown me who I am

Once blind, only feeling the burn of my Necessity

I now gaze upon the face that outshines the suns

My wick was without a glow

But then proximity to The Luminescent One

Set fire to my soul

If you are Light — I am twilight

The beams from within me — a refraction from you

Light thats still true

But is of the Son upon this moon

My light is lunar — a mirror

Glaring from my Source, I keep you in view

If you are Light — I am twilight

Humbly bearing witness to Your hues.
