A Certainty

A Poem by Lauren Madsen
When I wilt with thirst,
parched and deficient,
His water revives:
strengthening limbs,
lengthening roots,
imbuing new life,
reminding me
of my dependence—
His generous
pouring-into me.
I must never
turn away,
I must never
forget
or refuse
to drink.
