Where Dust and Cosmos Meet

A Poem by Mariana Herrera Mosli

Through barren lands, the camels softly tread,

Their breath a mist against the wasteland’s chill.

The winds grow calm, as if by Heaven led,

A cosmic flame appears, breaks tyrant’s will.

Three star-seers move, their wisdom burning bright,

charting the heavens in the darkened skies.

The stars align and whisper through the night,

And beckon them where Love incarnate lies.

The oxen low; the lambs stand still in awe,

While frosted trees shed jewels along their wake.

The world, reborn, obeys creation’s law,

As night dissolves and truth begins to break.

A crownless King, where dust and cosmos meet,

Reveals the sacred at the shepherds’ feet.

Mariana Herrera Mosli is a Cuban-American writer and photographer who weaves art, theology, and lived experience into her work. As an English as a Second Language speaker and mother, her writing reflects her spiritual journey, mental health battles, and serves as a bridge between the secular and the sacred. She seeks to explore the intersection of affective science and theology, creating works that glorify God and resonate with those on the fringes.
