Scars of Lost Stars

A Poem by Ryan Emerson
Ruminating thoughts pierce the ears of the midnight sky.
Thunderous cries drive the divide of the echo’s lies.
Fortified alongside lightning’s relentless reply,
Flies a deceptive past that deprives the sun’s revive.
Immortalized, truths that lie lead the future awry,
Where the present’s demise eclipses clarity’s eye.
Moons hide behind shadows of doubt, devout to divide–
Clouded pride unraveled by cruel whispers of deride.
Time sighs, then abides and rushes to demoralize–
Paralyzed hope, compromised by ego’s rapid decline.
Entwined in Rumination’s malign, deafening bind,
With a supine spine, resolve lies silent, dragged behind–
Its fate resigned, sinking deep where fleeting light stays blind.
Yet light shines, wrestles with darkness and finds space to climb–
For beyond their prime, scars of lost stars are gifts from time–
Everlasting chimes commanding the tides to align,
Designed to rise and sympathize with self’s fragile line.
Embracing esteem’s confine with a nurturing breeze,
Whispering trees guide lost pride to a forgiving sea–
Where humility, anchored patiently, waits to feed–
Upon surrendered screams
Of acquiescent dreams.
Awakening
Enlightening–
Waves of equanimity,
Bearing an identity,
Shaped by serenity,
Washed away in fragility,
Resurfaced in tranquility,
Restored
Ashore,
Footprints forge forward.
